This is a really great and easy to use gym with late opening hours and mostly friendly patrons. It has several things I’ve learned not to take for granted in other countries even at high-end gyms I really appreciate , including:
-Modern treadmills with individualized TVs
-1.25 kg weights AND a variety of bumper plates for exercises that require them
-Water fountains
-Fast, good wifi with the password conveniently written on the right of the wall when you enter the weights area
-Fully equipped, modern, and safe weight lifting equipment, including (gasp) safety bars for both squat racks and adequate closure clips for all the free weights they have (in fact it’s a rule that you need to use them…)
My main complaints about this gym are A) the daypass price still seems to high for what they offer (even though this Tel Aviv), the locker situation is not at all convenient and yes you must bring your own locks and C) it is REALLY confusing to find and get started in this gym.
The weights building is well off the main street in the middle of what looks like a concrete jungle or area resembling the way inner city projects and war zones are depicted in American movies. Should you perserve and still find the entrance, you’ll often see there’s no one actually at the weight room desk. There’s a trainer you’ll have to find who is camofluaged well among all the other gym customers. Then you’ll have to learn from HER where the secret other building is where you can actually buy a day pass. It’s all the way around the conrete jungle back off the main street inside another mysterious building identifiable only by what appears to be a secret -society insignia-resembling purry cat. (It’s actually a pilates studio. ) Then if you can make your way insidetl there and up the stairs you can finally a day pass…though the very nice lady selling them also wants your full name , email, and won’t tell you that the wifi password she gives you, if you ask for it, only works for the wifi in the OTHER building (the weights room…)
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that when I originally looking for this gym 9 of the 10 people living on the SAME STREET whom I asked couldn’tell me how to get to it.
But, if you can get a membership and get inside, highly recommended 😉
