I recently had an unexpected encounter with a recruiter that I believe warrants discussion. During my interaction with Taylan Bethea from Mosaic Personnel, I experienced behavior that fell short of professional standards and left me unsettled.
From the outset, Mr. Bethea’s approach seemed disinterested and dismissive. He frequently interrupted me, hindering effective communication, and his tone conveyed a lack of respect for my input. Additionally, his critique of my resume bordered on derogatory, undermining my confidence and leaving me feeling undervalued as a candidate.
Of particular concern was Mr. Bethea’s statement that I should refrain from contacting Mosaic Personnel for future services. Such a directive is unusual for a staffing agency representative and raises questions about the agency’s commitment to client engagement and support.
While I understand that recruiters are often under pressure to meet client demands, professionalism and courtesy should remain paramount in all interactions. Constructive feedback is valuable, but it should be delivered with respect and consideration for the recipient’s feelings and aspirations.
This experience serves as a reminder of the importance of professionalism and empathy in recruitment processes. As candidates, we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the outcome of our interactions. It is my hope that by sharing this experience, it will prompt reflection and improvement in recruitment practices for the benefit of all stakeholders involved.
