My company reached out to various recruitment firms to narrow down who we would like to use to recruit a director of operations for our behavioral health clinic. Their executive director (for both behavioralhealthsearch.com and psychiatryrecruitment.org) spoke poorly about my Executive Assistant in a follow-up email, stating that he would not work with us unless he was able to speak to me directly. When I responded that we would be removing his company from our list of potential providers, he responded “Oh, Thank God.” It’s incredibly important for recruiters – the first contact for a potential candidate – to be professional and friendly. My first and only impression is a thumbs down.
