I reached out to Mitchell Martin for a nursing position in my area. I have been a travel nurse for a year and wanted a local contract close to home. At first, the process was smooth and the recruiter maintained good communication. I submitted the proper documentation on time so I would be able to start my assignment at a local medical facility. The day of my start date I was told by Mitchell Martin I didn’t have clearance from the facility to work. They were vague as to why and what could be done to correct it. They also told me the hospital wasn’t getting back to them. I was sympathetic at first, but two weeks went by, and I was becoming impatient. At this point, the recruiter Jessica told me to reach out to the facility to resolve the issue. That isn’t my job and I did it anyway with much displeasure from the facility. At this point, I was furious and expressed that I needed to start work as I had bills to pay. I was told by the recruiter that I would be compensated in the form of gift cards, but they NEVER did. They also never reimbursed me for my fingerprinting. By the third week, they suddenly had clearance but by that point, I had had enough. I told the recruiter how I no longer wanted to work with them and how they didn’t respect my time and skills as a nurse. They also have all my personal information at this point and they never followed through on the nursing contract. Please be wary of this company.
