I first discovered Vinyl Passion/Missing Link Cables about 18 months ago after responding to an advert for a pair of pre-loved Vincent mono power amps that they’d taken in part exchange. I had a problem as I was based in Hampshire and they’re in North Notts. However, they offered to deliver them to relatives in South Notts who happened to be visiting a few days later. Absolutely astounding customer service and the amps haven’t missed a beat. I then bought new-to-me Linn LP12 Sondek. It came with the original one-speed Valhalla psu. I wanted a two-speed and, after some research established that Mark had designed his own psu that provided tremendous performance whilst delivering exceptional value for money. After the success of my first transaction, I delivered the deck and had the Revolution psu, a new arm board and replaced the 40-year old motor. Returning home, the improvement in sound quality was incredible… and I was hooked. The 350-mile round trip was more than worth it. Mark is an incredibly talented individual who simultaneously pursues the best sound he/you can achieve for your kit combined with scientific measurement and research that back up his designs and the improvements they make. When considering further upgrades, there was only one place that I was prepared to go. Exceptional customer service, a relationship built on trust and a thoroughly great chap to boot. After saving for a while, I did two 350-mile trips to drop off and collect my Sondek. I wasn’t going to trust couriers! I upgraded most of my deck so that it is now a fully-fledged Vinyl Passion VP-12 reference turntable. It truly is the best sounding deck I’ve ever heard. Although I paid for it, I feel privileged to own what is now my forever turntable. The easiest way to describe the step-up in sound and musicality it so say that it makes every normal record sound like a MoFi pressing and MoFi pressings sound out of this world. I’ve recently bought a pair of pre-loved link cryo reference power cables for my phono stage and a Titan Audio power bank to receive a further step up in performance. I can’t recommend Mark and his work enough. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and a kindred audio spirit. It’s an easy recommend. I will be back for more products just as soon as my bank balance is ready. Thanks again Mark!

There is a reason that the company is called “Vinyl Passion”, it sums up Mark and his attitude to achieving the best possible sound at a reasonable price. Having read about the company’s products in various magazines and online, I decided to take in my early 80s Valhalla LP12 and Ittok for an upgrade. Initially I was only going to change to the Revelation power supply, but a quick demo made me include the Unity 2 chassis and armboard, as well as the acrylic baseboard. The difference it made to my system was huge, and made me realise that the old Linn had been the weak link in my Naim/Sopra 2 system. Inevitably a few months later I returned to Mark for him to complete the full VP conversion to my LP12, plus various arm and interconnect cables. Wow, what an improvement for a fraction of the cost of a Selekt spec Linn, and probably far superior in sound. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a no-brainer if you have an old Linn. Don’t change to the expensive new versions, just upgrade through VP and achieve superior quality at a fraction of the cost.

Met Mark and Jan for the first time recently and was highly impressed. After chatting for an hour I said goodbye to my Manticore Mantra…A service, new cartridge (AT-VM95ML) new platter mat and stylus cleaner was the order of the day. When the time came to pick it up Mark had it playing in his demo room…to say I was impressed is an understatement but I wondered what it would sound like on my equipment…Stunned is the word…absolutely fantastic, the best it’s ever sounded….needless to say my tv or CD player hasn’t been switched on since. Many thanks Mark and Jan.
