Mikor Dubai is traveling agency that arranges a 90 day visit visa and accommodation for you to enter into the United Arab Emirates as per what their general manager says. I took it upon myself to investigate and see how genuine they were so I signed up to be their customer. I paid their charged fees of GHS 7000/ $1400 for ticket and visa. They assured me to have my visa within 48 hours and it came even earlier which was quite impressive. Being my first time to use a third party in my travels, I took off from Accra Ghana and was told by their staff that an agent or a staff of theirs will pick me up at the airport. I was given address and a number to reach out to upon arrival. Having thought twice of it, I prepared myself for any unforeseen circumstances that may befall me so I was okay. I got to the airport and the staff to pick me up wasn’t there, however, I was in touch with him on the internet. He asked me to come to his residence instead by giving me directions. I followed his directions, and I ended up traveling for 3 and half hours by bus by myself to another state or emirate in the UAE which is far away from Dubai. I had no problem for I knew I had my own backup in case of anything. I met his staff finally who kept me waiting for him at the bus station for an hour and half. He now took me from the bus station to about 20-30 minutes drive away from the city and bus station. He asked the taxi driver to stop at some point and we got down and brought my belongings out. Dear readers, the town was a ghost town. I could hardly see people and vehicles. I began suspecting what many Ghanaians have been saying about traveling agencies in Ghana. I followed the staff to his residence and behold it was an abandoned hamlet where even there was not enough space to stretch out. I saw many Ghanaians and Ivorians there who were sharing the same little space in that place and there were about 11 Ghanaian and Ivorian expats living there of which I believed had fallen victims to the deceit of this people and due to lack of resources, they have embraced their fate and hope for the best while there.
I questioned the man and told him I won’t be able to stay there for that was not what we agreed on and however, this place isn’t suitable for me. He told me to calm down for this is how they live here and that they were here to struggle and not live luxuriously. Seeing the condition of the situation. I asked him to show me the nearest restaurant to eat and he did but I went out to inquire more of my traveling agent from people I saw around. A good samaritan told me that the Police of that area is after him the agent and that the house or hamlet in which they lived, doesn’t belong to him and the owner isn’t aware of their presence as well. Knowing perfectly that I’ve been deceived and scammed. I made the necessary arrangements and decided to move back to Dubai and so I did. While leaving, I took some few pictures of the house of which I was being lured to and the agent asked me not to share any of what I’ve seen to anyone else they may ran out of customers.
To any of you who are planning on using third parties for your visa acquisitions, I implore you to be very vigilant and subtle. Many of these lie to their customers just to extort money from them. I did this to know for myself what was going on in this sector and I’ve seen and experienced for myself.
Beware of your traveling agencies. I call on anyone thinking of visiting Mikor Dubai for assistance to halt immediately and look for better solution.
