Strongly encourage not engaging with this place. Was reluctantly required to attend as an educator in an alternative setting with a Steiner stream and it was horrific. Were led by senior leadership/director who was openly and quite confidently discriminative of First Nations people, LGBTQI communities and unbelievably misogynistic – specifically referring to the display of flags in classrooms representing respect for these communities as ‘tokenistic’. The whole philosophy of Steiner embodies the ideology of white male privilege and utter entitlement. They don’t teach kids how to read in the prime years it is needed and discriminate towards any child who has a different learning style or needs such as those with specific diagnosis. When engaging in ‘Steiner training’ the leadership/director imposed on your classroom so he can just sit there and watch and judge then makes you go through the most tedious ‘reflective process’ that is really just an opportunity for more entitled white male self promotion. When I decided not to engage in the sessions anymore (which was NOT mandatory) I was purposely ever so subtly pushed into as he walked passed me at a community event hahaha literally child like behaviour

I did an online course to help children express their feelings through art. It was absolute rubbish. Each 90 min lesson could be summed up in one sentence, was run by a woman with no teaching qualifications and had a 30 minute ‘movement break’ by her retired PE teacher husband. The first time we were asked to express our feelings in art, mine showed anger and a desire to die, so they KICKED ME OUT of the course for making them uncomfortable 🙄

I did my Diploma of Advanced Education here and it was a wonderful experience with terrific teachers and a fabulous cohort of students. I highly recommend this amazing learning institution to anyone. Your life will certainly be enriched!
