Unprofessional and frustrating experience! I applied for multiple positions at this company that closely matched my skills and experience. However, the recruiter (Donna) consistently demonstrated a lack of professionalism. She asks numerous questions to assess qualifications, and when she finds no issues, she repeatedly uses the lack of a US visa as an excuse for rejection—even though I know people working in the same department and the same position without one. She even canceled an 8 AM meeting just five minutes before it started upon realizing I didn’t have a US visa. To make matters worse, many of their job postings don’t even list a US visa as a requirement. As someone else already mentioned in the reviews, it seems like they follow a “hire who you know” approach rather than genuinely considering qualified candidates. Very disappointing.
Update based on MEDA’s response: I do not have any restrictions working in the Canadian market as I hold an open work permit! I can also apply for a US Visa upon my employer request. If you think not holding a US Visa is a deal breaker for you, it should be the first thing you ask a client about. Also, Windsor is a small city. I know many friends of mine working for the same positions you provide without any US Visa. Looks like non-negotiable is a pretty fluid concept for you!
