The area was hit with storms. Some places are closed, but the town is coming back. It is very nice to be near the beach without millions of people there as well. Even long before the storm, the beach wasn’t over crowded. The views are awesome. Watching the sunset from the beach is great.

John’s Pass is an awesome place to check out. Lots of great food and shopping. A nice marina and many great things to see. We saw dolphins swimming and relaxed next to the water…

As a local who only comes here when family/friends from out of state visit the region, don’t come here. Sure, it’s got that tropical esthetic, but food, parking, and most souvenirs are super expensive. There are plenty of places to eat and buy souvenirs on the mainland that are way more affordable.
