Booked a stay, 11 nights at the Mantra 100 in Melbourne. Disgusting, dirty not friendly. Would not recommend to stay. Better staying at a youth hostel. 2 stars I’d give it. Entrance a let down vending machines in lobby makes place look cheap. Worn carpet. Dirty lifts, dirty floors. Reception like an old bank tellers work space. Staff looks unprofessional. Loads of disappointments. Beds like jelly. Hot water seems to disappear after 10pm. Blankets stained. Blood stains on duvets. An unpleasant stay all up.

My wife and i booked a three night stay at the mantra Coolangatta, my wife booked online as a getaway for the two of us and as a birthday surprise for me. We both work in the intensive care unit of a major Brisbane hospital and after the year we’ve had were really looking forward to the break. When my wife booked she explicitly stated that we wanted to book an apartment facing the beach. However when we arrived we were disappointed to find that our room was on the extreme west of the building with the hot sun elevating the temperature to quite a degree. What was worse though was the much anticipated ocean view, it was a minimal ocean view with the majority looking at the building next door. The orientation of the room did not lend itself to being very relaxing and was actually quite claustrophobic in its feeling ( even though it was a large apartment). Ultimately we were offered a smaller room on the second floor with an ocean view that was obscured by trees immediately in front of our balcony. To say we felt deflated is an understatement. We might as well stayed home. I must add though that the young Lady at reception was outstanding in her understanding and in trying her best to obtain for us a suitable room, she was the one shining light of this whole saga. My wife and I are very disappointed with what has occurred and feel as though our excitement of looking forward to our break has been hugely let down. I wouldn’t in all honesty be able to recommend Mantra as a result of this experience. We really needed this break, unfortunately we didn’t get the break we needed.

No stars My son and I staid in Mantra Legends, and it was the worst experience in my life, and I have travelled the world, the hotels I have stayed in overseas were 5 stars compared to Mantra Legends. Here are just some of the dispicable things The room was supposed to be delux it was substandard, cockroaches in the bathroom no ventilation, peeling paint, room twin small with two double beds. It was a standard room. The ocean view you had to lean over the tiny balcony to see it. Charged 19 AUD for car parking, internet 45 AUD 10 20 AUD for Foxtel movies $3.00 to bring up room service, I had to ring reception to have the room serviced. Stuck on 10 floor for 20 mins lifts not working I will never stay in another Mantra dump. Mantra should really raise the standards and target the Australian market. Very disappointed customer
