I generally really like this hotel. The perfectly preserved 80s modern lobby with the 2 story free fall fountain and live plants has a ton of character, same with the large outdoor fountain. The gym was great, the store in the lobby was huge for a hotel, and a lot of the staff were friendly. The pool area was pristine. The vibe of the property felt dignified but not pretentious. The beds were really comfortable.
That said there were a couple big things that really made our stay suffer. First, our room smelled musty like wet carpet indicating water damage at some point.
Second, $18 to park in a garage in a suburban area with absolutely nothing immediately around it is insane.
Lastly and most importantly, we saw other reviews indicating the hot tub was closed, so we called to verify if this was the case. We were specifically not only told but outright promised by the front desk that it worked, only to pull up to see an empty pit surrounded by cones. The hot tub is a huge part of why we choose our hotels and we really liked this hotel overall but especially for a flagship Hilton like this it’s unacceptable to not have a hot tub, especially when it was originally built with one that just needs some repairs. Other guests we spoke to in the pool area were furious and felt lied to, and we agreed.
This is a definitely a really good hotel, but it needs to address these issues to be great.
Fix your hot tub please
