I applied for the Customer Service position which offered a $60,000 – $120,000 salary but in the back of my mind I kept telling myself that this job is way to good to be true… unfortunately, I was right. The first red flag was that my interview was done via the Hangout app through text. I was hired two days later without anyone from the “company” ever talking to me or seeing me in person. Then I was told that this was a stay at home job and the funds for the software and equipment needed to set up a mini office(including a laptop, desk and chair) would all be provided by the company. So they emailed me a check which they wanted me to deposit in my bank account then use that money to then pay their vendors for the equipment. My suspicions increased so I did some investigating. I decided to go to their physical address provided online and was lead to a Dollar General store and I also called the bank to verify the check that they emailed and was told that there was no account.
Anyone reading this…THIS IS A SCAM company. Do not apply, do not accept their offer, and do not pass go because there is no $200!
