Last year my elderly Aunt had a fall that landed her in the ER. This event led to other complications including lack of mobility, progressed signs of dementia, confusion and need for rehabilitation and 24/7 care. We were incredibly fortunate to have found The New Jewish Home where she was admitted after her hospital discharge. Throughout the entire process, their staff gave exceptional service (to our family) and care (for our Aunt). They went above and beyond to get her a spot in their rehab facility where the nurses, doctors, social workers, therapists, support staff all gave her personalized attention, comprehensive assessments, top rehabilitation services, and a care plan for her release. Plus the recreational activities were amazing – they offered jewelry making, performances, music/dancing, and holiday celebrations which really helped my Aunt to stay engaged and stimulated. As a caretaker, I was very impressed with their accessibility and communication, keeping us regularly informed and updated. And to top it off, everyone there is so nice and clearly enjoy their work! We were so grateful to have found The New Jewish Home when we needed it most.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with The New Jewish Home for over 25 years as one of their print vendors, and I can confidently say they are one of the most dedicated and professional organizations I’ve partnered with. Their team is made up of incredibly smart, compassionate individuals who truly care about the well-being of the elderly community they serve. Beyond our long-standing business relationship, I also had a personal experience that confirmed what I’ve seen professionally. I referred a friend whose mother needed Cardiac Rehabilitation, and she received excellent care. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in her recovery. It’s rare to find an organization that balances operational excellence with such a strong sense of mission. The New Jewish Home continues to impress year after year, and I’m proud to be associated with them.

⭐⭐ (2 out of 5 stars) I’m giving 2 stars solely because of Dr. Otkur and PA Bridget, who were amazing and took excellent care of my father. The Administrative team, although slow to respond at times and not always reassuring, did eventually help me get everything needed to bring my father home safely with services—I’m grateful for that. However, the care on the floor was disappointing. There were frequent staffing shortages, and some nurses were clearly overwhelmed, especially on weekends. I had to constantly advocate for my father to ensure he was properly cared for. The facility has to do a better job with housekeeping and dietary choices. Food is terrible.Families place their trust in facilities like this, and unfortunately, that trust was often tested. Improvements are needed in staffing, communication, and consistency of care.
