Very strange experience with JENNMAR. They are a very “pro liberal” company. Be very weary when taking the underground miner class. Their HR is completely backwards. I was taking their class and at the end of the day, one of the felony junkies in the class tried to corner me at my car and attack me. Not sure what his intent was, but I had tried to leave, I tried to talk to him to de-escalate the situation. Didn’t make a difference. I warned him 3 times I was armed, I’m a veteran, please don’t throw your life away. So naturally I tell them what occurred outside their office and guess what HR does? They kick me out of the class because I “threatened” to defend myself. Last I checked self defense was an inalienable right. I knew it was screwed when I mentioned recidivism rates and both HR ladies started getting loud and angry about it. One HR lady said that violent offenders don’t reoffend and that recidivism rates are made up. They said in this field people will say things to make you mad and you can’t threaten someone. I said I never threatened anyone, if you raise your hands at me and corner me at my car and I scream I am going to defend myself? How is that a threat? It was all very strange. I don’t like the fact that they said because I’ve been in combat it made them feel unsafe around me. Now remember this is all because some weirdo drug addict felon tried to bum rush me at my car. The conversation kept going in circles with HR but from my experience, they will gladly take criminals, druggies, violent offenders underground and if you’re a veteran like me, with no criminal record, a degree, own your own vehicle, home, have children? Don’t bother with JENNMAR, take your skills elsewhere. This experience was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with an employer. I have never had anyone tell me that I was wrong for trying to leave, for trying to talk it out, and using violence as a last resort was incorrect. What if my wife was in the car, with my children? What am I supposed to do then JENNMAR? Don’t bother asking, because HR is going to get mad at you for not wanting to be around people that have a hair trigger. Because that’s who JENNMAR wants underground, people who are very clearly withdrawing and looking for easy money. I’m honestly tempted to see what I can push for legally because I wasn’t even technically an employee and that treatment was more shocking than anything I’ve ever experienced in my life. I will start looking into avenues of federal investigations or notifying the inspector general about their behavior.
