A textbook example of everything wrong with transactional recruitment. I was contacted by Lisa Rey regarding a supposedly urgent role her “client” needed to fill. She pushed hard for my updated resume and promised quick follow-up. After sending my information, I received nothing — no update, no courtesy message. I followed up myself and was met with total silence. It’s clear her only goal was to pad their internal database to hit KPI metrics, with zero intention of supporting candidates. As someone with agency recruiting experience, I recognize the tactic: bait candidates, harvest resumes, disappear. Unethical, disrespectful, and a waste of people’s time. Avoid.

My experience with Insight Global as a staffing agency was frustrating due to their poor communication and lack of updates. Throughout the process, I received infrequent and vague updates on my job applications and placements, leaving me unsure of their progress. Their staff was also unresponsive, with delayed or missing responses to my inquiries. This lack of transparent and timely communication made the job search process feel impersonal and disjointed, ultimately hindering my ability to prepare and move forward effectively.

A recruiter Andrew Troutman reached out to me on LinkedIn. We had a promising phone call for a position and I sent over my information with my resume. Andrew said he would follow up with my application. I reached out to twice via email and there was no response. I was ghosted!
