This is not a good place to work. I have several examples why, but I’ll mention one important one. Initially, they were docking staff pay for missed hours; however it’s not legal based on their SALARY structure. They did this to myself as well as others.
I started doing payroll for them because their office manager was leaving, and the person they hired did not return after her first day of training. I found several mistakes in their system. In regards to the way they were docking pay, it didn’t make sense to me, so I looked it up.
I let the owners know I would be following the law, and would no longer dock people they way they had instructed me to. They agreed. It’s my opinion they were already aware. I wonder if they returned to that practice after my departure.
Also, we calculated commissions in a spreadsheet, and shared that information with the staff by giving them paper copies rather than emailing them the spreadsheet version. I believe this was to conceal errors. Otherwise, why would they just not let me email everyone their numbers? Why take the time to print out sheets each week? How does that make sense?
This is just one example, but I feel it should be enough to reflect the character of the company.
