I wanted to believe recruiting agencies were job advocates. But, I appreciate those who are able to see and respect, its more a numbers game. I used to do my best to express value and prepare ahead for upcoming interviews. I’d spend a decent amount of time practicing and writing positive answers – trying to sell myself. Then, someone at Robert Half taught me an important lesson.
I performed rather well in my first interview and was asked to come back for a second interview in a week. The second interview was the same person following a script asking me the exact same questions over again! I ended up saying I answered all these same questions last week and I was no longer interested in working through them.
I sincerely feel, the interviewer just didn’t want to aknowledge she goofed up and didn’t prepare ahead any. What was scary was she revealed she was a leader – thank you for revealing the qualities needed to reach the top at Robert Half. The more heads you recruit and fill the bigger bonus you recieve.
If you learn to play the game well, you’ll do just fine.
