I had the worst experience working with Grayling Associates. I was contacted by one of their recruiters who told me that I was the perfect fit for a Management role that they were recruiting for on behalf of one of their clients. After interviewing with their client, the recruiter contacted me the very next day and told me that their client chose me as their candidate and was very eager to hire me. The recruiters exact words were “that their client wanted me to stop interviewing with other firms and wanted to steal me from other potential offers from other much larger Investment Firms”. After several discussions with the recruiter I was told that my compensation would be a lot better with their client and that I would have greater potential for growth within the firm. I was convinced and accepted their six figure salary where the terms were discussed on the phone with the recruiter and the CEO of Grayling Associates. I turned down two job offers and declined a few second interviews with other big Investment firms because I was under the impression that I already had a job set in place. My recruiter and the CEO of Grayling Associates made several promises on behalf of their client and at the very last minute they didn’t deliver. The day that I was scheduled to start work I was sent a text message from my recruiter telling me that my start date was being pushed back a few days and five minutes later the very same day, an hour before I was scheduled to start work their client called me and told me that my job offer was being rescinded without any explanation. I tried to contact my recruiter at Grayling Associates several times by phone, text message, and email but I received no response. I was ghosted with no explanation as to why my job offer was rescinded at the very last minute. This job cost me several thousand dollars. I bought almost $4k in tailored suites that I can no longer return. I live in the city and had to commute to the suburbs for this job so I also bought a car that I don’t really have any use for. This is very unprofessional on both their client and Grayling Associates to let me know that my job offer was being rescinded at the very last minute and to also ghost me without even giving me an explanation. I could have accepted another job offer with a different Investment Firm that is more professional with how they treat their candidates and potential employees rather than dealing with Grayling Associates and their shady clients.

Spoke with a recruiter about an opportunity that she claimed “I would be perfect for” She said she would be looking at the client’s calendar to get me scheduled for next steps. I never heard back. I reached out and was completely ignored. Finally got a rejection email like a week later. I saw the opportunity posted again so I applied again. Another recruiter scheduled a call with me. While waiting for the call, I get an email 2 minutes before our scheduled time that he’s cancelling the call. Absolutely poor communication and unprofessionalism. I’ve worked in staffing before and have never just up and ghosted a candidate after telling them they’re moving forward to next steps. Nor have I cancelled a call 2 minutes before the scheduled time. I told them not to worry about reaching back out about other opportunities. Their lack of communication and professionalism was enough to deal with twice. I don’t need it again.

I had an exceptional experience working with Jessica from Grayling Associates Inc. Her warmth and genuine care shone through from our very first interaction. Not only did she have a fantastic sense of humor, but she also made the process feel comfortable and engaging. Communication was top-notch – clear, timely, and always with a personal touch. I truly appreciated her dedication to ensuring that everyone was cared for in the process. Thanks to her efforts, I now have a great job. I highly recommend Jessica to other people looking to retain a top-notch recruiter.
