I personally called Dynamark, repeatedly, for assistance to bring the system operational, asking for on-site technical assistance / repairs to bring the system on line. The sales and installation organization they are associated with, Smart Shield Systems (the organization that sold and installed the physical system), would not send a technician after repeated requests and only attempted to resolve the issue (system not functioning) with me over the phone as I troubleshot their system, in two separate attempts. These attempts were unsuccessful. I explained to their technicians more than once that it appeared that there was a physical failure of the device installed on our door, it would not accept the protocols I keyed as they instructed. They doubted this & maintained that it was more likely that the batteries were dead, or my key path was incorrectly typed. After months of attempting to get a technician on site, one finally arrived and confirmed what I had deduced, which was that the device had failed as I had stated and needed to be replaced. We paid to have the device replaced, all we wanted was a working system and monitoring. A few days later, a CO2 sensor in the system failed & unfortunately it is literally impossible to disarm the piercing, shrieking alarm generated for this situation from the controller. My repeated calls for assistance were unanswered. There are no on line instructions for a remedy for this equipment failure, it cannot be managed with keystrokes. With this failure of the hardware I was forced to find the sensor & remove it from the system, and remove the controller from the system, thus completely disabling a system we had just paid a significant amount of money to have repaired, after months of delays. This was truly the last straw, I will not consider looking to either Dynamark or Smart Shield Systems for any services regarding the physical system or the monitoring thereof after over a year of their complete failure.
In summation, there was no functioning security system in place to monitor, and no monitoring occurring, during this period – if there had been, we would have simply gone about our lives and paid the bill without hesitation. There is no debt due. We will now pursue separate complaints against both Dynamark and Smart Shield Systems. The $916.65 claim by Dynamark is a bogus claim that will not be paid.
