GVC replaced the main water line for my street in Bedford, MA. The workers seemed professional and considerate. When GVC connected a temporary water line in early October, they did so using the connection at the outdoor faucet at the front of the house. The frost free faucet stem assembly was removed and placed on top of the heating oil filler cap. In late November the main line replacement was completed. At that time, GVC reinstalled the frost free stem assembly. It took a while to complete. I thought the worker might be having an issue. As I recall, I turned the shut off valve for the frost free faucet on and off a number of times. This was at the direction of the GVC worker as he tried to make sure the faucet was installed and working properly. Finally, the worker indicated the job was complete and everything is fine. He said I might want to leave the frost free faucet off for the winter. I decided to turn the shut off valve on a few days later. Given the issues the GVC worker experienced, I wanted to make sure the faucet worked properly. As I turned the faucet on, I noticed water running out from the stem area next to the faucet handle. The faucet is five years old and never had an issue previously. I have a contact sheet with GVC employees. It had been left in the mailbox in case Bedford residents had questions or concerns regarding the Water Main installation. I called Kyle Place. He had Nicholas Tambolleo call me. Nick arrived the next day December 2, 2024. He saw the faucet issue and tried to fix it. He told me a part was needed and he would fix the faucet by the end of the following day. I waited one additional day and called Nick to find out when he would repair the faucet. I left a voicemail and got no response. After another day, I called Kyle Place on December 6 who said he would contact Nick. The following Monday, I left phone and text messages for Nick. Receiving no response, I called the superintendent Michael Valenti lll on December 14. He indicated he would try to get Nick out the following week. December 21 I called Michael to follow up. After speaking briefly, he said Nick texted him saying the parts had been installed and Michael said ‘You’re all set.’ Being at the house, I checked the faucet and the problem had not been fixed. It was no better of different. I called Michael back. He said Nick was in the office and said the parts were installed. I explained that the problem was not fixed. Michael said he would send Nick out on Monday, December 23. I told Michael I will be at the house. Nick did not show up at the house December 23. GVC fixed the issue January 23.
