I came to this agency to apply for work and was treated with nothing but disrespect and unprofessionalism. After completing a long application and doing the test they gave me, I tried to ask a question about one part I didn’t understand. Instead of being helped or spoken to with basic respect, I was told I “failed” and was immediately dismissed.
When I calmly tried to explain myself, I was met with yelling and threats. One of the women raised her voice, told me to “get out of her office,” and said she would call the police on me — for simply speaking up. I wasn’t aggressive. I wasn’t disrespectful. I was simply trying to communicate.
What stood out the most was the clear hostility and racial undertone in the way I was treated. This wasn’t about qualifications or a test — this was about how certain people in that office treat people who look like me. I’ve experienced this kind of behavior more than once in Evansville, and it’s clear that this agency is no exception.
If you’re a Black man or a person of color looking for work and expecting to be treated fairly and professionally, think twice before going here. They made it clear they had no interest in hearing me out or treating me with dignity. That speaks volumes.
