My teenage son Marcus (17) was at a crossroads around 4 months ago after leaving school last year. He didn’t have a clue what he wanted to get into, as since leaving school he enrolled in a college in which he’s not happy with. He was doing a sociology/psychology course as he excelled in school in these subject in school but, he realised that he didn’t like this subject at all now that he’s delved deeper since joining the college. The thing is I’ve always thought he had a ridiculous artistic skill level. From graphic drawing to using paint and pencil. I always tried to tell him to go into art but his reply was there’s no proper jobs/careers for artists. This is where Stephen from Diverse Talent Partners come in. I approached him and explained Markus’ dilemma. Stephen gladly took us on and arranged an initial meeting to get to know us, also to see where he can help and to implement a plan of action. After a few more one to one meetings with Markus, Stephen concluded that Markus should get into design, to my joy of course. Now he also told me that the reason Markus wasn’t interested in getting into design as a career was because whilst at school talking to a teacher, he was told that he wasn’t that talented and should be interested in going for a normal job like everyone else. I tell you my blood is boiling, now he didn’t tell me about this as he knows that I’ll be kicking up a big drama and he’s a quiet and humble kid so I understood. I’m so happy Stephen has taken the time to give Markus this vital guidance at such a crucial stage in his life. I’ve seen the difference in his drive and confidence, also his aptitude in implementing decisions towards getting to his personal targets of improvement….
Roll on 2 months and now Markus has been accepted into an apprenticeship with an architect company in north London. He will attend 3 days a week at their office and the other two days at college. They loved his desire to get into this industry and his skill set was perfect for the profile of apprentice they were looking for. All thanks to the training and guidance from Stephen and his ethics of getting the right building blocks to help you towards attaining the presence and skills to get into your chosen career and industry.
I highly recommend Stephen to help bring that guidance, composure, professionalism and confidence for your child to ascertain the skills to be ready for this big world of jobs and careers and general life. I’m forever thankful.
