Update since 2 years ago: Stay away. I tried ScienCell again and it’s even worse – the low attachment well plates literally turned cloudy, whether I added sterile pure water or cell culture media. Picture is attached. Some wells also have some aggregate forming as if the hydrogel disintegrated or something. We verified that it wasn’t microbial contamination. These wells were stored normally at ambient temp.
Original Review: Ordered some ultra low binding well plates but they literally don’t work. Some wells robustly support cell growth as if it’s cell culture treated plastic. Some other wells properly inhibit cell attachment, while some wells are in the middle. We seeded the same cells at the same concentration into these wells. We have used other brands without issue and thought that there might be cost savinngs with ScienCell. Their certificate of analysis wasn’t even available on the website with the plate’s lot number. This totally ruined our experiments and wasted valuable time+money.

I have ordered from this site more than 4 times – always ordering one of two things, HOK cells and/or the necessary media & supplements. I can’t tell you how much of a hassle it is to use their website for purchasing. It always says our department credit card is denied! No matter how much our department purchase office (who orders on our behalf from thousands of companies without issue) tries to call and connect with them – the problem is never at their end. I am obliged to spend thousands of grant dollars on these cells- if the website doesn’t work for purchasing, at least let us purchase over the phone!
I have tried everything, changing browsers, clearing caches, using other compters, Mac, PC etc. Everyone from my university department has tried to help too. Every now and again, something works without rhyme or reason. At this point, if I could get the cells and media from somewhere else, I would.

The kits shipped with dry ice was delivered late in a Friday afternoon without notifying the shipment in advance, which were perished over the weekend. The customer service was impatient and lack of a background to address customers concern. The director did not response customer’s complaint. The company refused to replace the perished kits.
