Some of the people who work there are racists, ageists and subscribe to cronyism. From Mitch the owner to the workers/assignment managers like Karen and Natalie. They are the worst. They don’t care about their employees. They only care about their clients, period. I got injured on one of the jobs that they assigned me and these people suggested that I file for Medicaid and go to the hospital. No help or concern whatsoever. After that, I wasn’t given any other assignments. I was told that there were no assignments available even though there were other employees who were getting two to three different assignments at a time – working from home, etc. If you are a minority, don’t bother. If you get anything, it will be janitorial, regardless of whether you have a college degree or not. These people are horrible. Don’t use them!!!

The people that work at this Staffing Agency are the most useless, prejudice and unprofessional bunch out there. They lie to you to get you to register with them by promising you a lot of jobs and then once you register with them, they tell you nothing is available. I spent 12 months reaching out to them for assignments to no avail. All I got were lies. Obviously, they use your information to get more business, by getting more employers to sign up with them. They only give the good assignments to very few cronies, that’s it. Their minority recruitment is almost nonexistent. They are horrible and prejudiced from the Director(Karen, including her associates Natalie and Cindy) on down. They are a waste of time. Look elsewhere.

3/14/18: As someone who was fresh out of university and didn’t know anyone in the Big Apple, I was at a loss for how to get a good introduction to the workforce, let alone an interview. I majored in film, which is why I originally looked at Core – Google listed them as a great company if you were interested in media. So far it’s been a great choice for me. I’ve been introduced to a variety of companies and Kristin has worked tirelessly at throwing different assignments and interview opportunities my way. I also like that you have a ton of flexibility in accepting or rejecting assignments. Although, like anything that’s part-time, the uncertainty of when your next paycheque is coming isn’t the best. But if you know how to budget and you like the “freelance”/”part-time” lifestyle, you can make it work! If you’re at a loss for what to do to get a head start in a new city, this is a great company to gain exposure and opportunities fast. Update as of 1/8/2019: I worked at Core from Oct 2017-July 2018. Those months weren’t easy and wouldn’t have been possible without the few hundred dollars I had in my savings. But I stuck with it. In March 2018 I got a temp-to-permanent placement at HBO and was officially hired by them after four months. I can never thank Kristin/Core enough for helping me get my first “proper job” in my field in a city where I knew no one!
