My first experience working with conduit was initially ok, I had the pleasure of working with Simon Barlow, applied for a job and heard nothing back, then another agent approached me and sent my CV to the same role – to which the employers came back to him immediately saying they were keen to interview me, but I had already applied weeks ago through Simon at Conduit. Out of fairness I stuck with Conduit, got an interview date, Simon at this point was very good sending me lots of info to prep for the role. On the day of my interview my wife who commutes to work on a motorcycle had an accident and had to go to hospital I emailed Simon three hours prior to the time of the interview (up until this point he’s been quick to reply to emails so seemed reasonable) letting him know what’s happened and hopefully we could reschedule. I’ll quote his exact response: “Hi Tristan, Just picked this up, spoken to Uppingham and they have pulled you out of the process, there wont be any rescheduling of this interview they have others to see for it. You should have phoned not just sent an email, and I and they don’t believe this has happened. I think the other recruiter knew you were right for the role and have spooked you so their candidate gets in instead, you have been very foolish to listen to them! Kind regards Simon” I think this speaks for itself with regards to levels of professionalism.
