To honest I love the program but it distorted me emotionally bc they confiscated my cultures beliefs away from me and I slow went into depression and endless of negatively. The therapy there kinda help but it wasn’t that much to help me. Then the instructors in the education department didn’t really help the students with any lessons or helped us with teaching stuff to us. They only let us use computer to teach us the lesson without human reactions.

I’m writing this not even a week after I graduated. If you have the time and attention span, please, read this. Especially if you’re considering sending your kid here, or enrolling. This place.. is iffy. The rules are on the strict side. It’s extremely hot, AC doesn’t work in many of the men’s dorms rooms. In other rooms it’s too strong, and you wind up being freezing cold all night. The food is fantastic. Lunch is especially delicious, with some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten in my entire life. The weight room is good. The punching bag is especially entertaining. The internet sucks. It’s slow, unreliable, and annoying. However, it’s free, so if you’re patient, it’s fine. Many of the staff members here are incredibly polite. And I call a majority of them my friends. (Shout out to Jones. Both of them. Great R.A’s.) Although I did not finish the program in its entirety, and had many arguments with staff (and on occasion, students.), the staff there are to die for. I would take a bullet for many of them. When I said I was dropping out early, I was called into a meeting with.. around 5 or 6 staff members, who gave me encouragement, and got me to stick around. Because of their efforts, I was able to push through, and earn my G.E.D. My first ever diploma. All for free. Did I pass with flying colors? Absolutely not. But if it weren’t for Mr. Chaves, (Did I even spell that right?) I wouldn’t have even gotten close. I’m a very aloof person most of the time. I don’t recognize how important my diploma is, and I doubt I ever will. But, I still pushed for it. And I’m certain it will benefit me in the long run. If you’re considering sending your children here, know that it can either be a waste of time, or a decision that will start a whole new chapter for their lives. They’ll help you get a HSD or GED, learn a trade, house you, feed you, care for you. All for free, for 2 start years. To my friends behind those fences, in the land of enchantment. Hello, and goodbye. I miss you all already. If I could go back and do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. No regrets. This place was not just a school, but a home. -Owen. C. P.S. Say hi to Ms. Tatum for me!

I’m a little upset, it’s a great place to be taught but poorly educated system, was told if I left with a certificate which I did and was told once completed I’d get a tool bag with tools in it and sadly it’s been months and I don’t know what happened and messaged someone who checks on me if I got a job through the year process and never responded to me so I guess I was lied about a tool bag🤷🏻‍♂️ left with nothing
