After walking along the San Francisco Bay Trail to the Palace of Fine Arts, we ordered lunch online through ChowNow. The nice thing about using that site is 100% went to the restaurant not a % commission going to the food web site.
The site said it would take 30 minutes but by the time we got there after 15 minutes it was ready for pickup. They had 2 benches out front but otherwise this would be a place where you would take out food to eat elsewhere in some nearby pretty green spaces.
My wife and mother-in-law ordered the Shrimp Sandwich. It was a shrimp salad with avocado, tomatoes and mayo on sliced sourdough. They both loved their sandwiches! My mother-in/law could only eat half her sandwich as it was so filling.
Our son had the #1 Italian Combo with salami, ham, mortadella, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and mild Italian peppers on a maybe a ciabatta loaf. He made a mess of it and devoured it quickly!
I had the Muffaletta with Genoa salami, mortadella, coppa, provolone cheese and muffaletta spread on a salted focaccia bun. Delicious but very salty which I loved!
We walked over to the Marina Green area for a picnic. We grabbed a seat on a bench by the water with great water views and of Alcatraz. A great spot for lunch and some amazing sandwiches!
