I worked with Brooksource to land my first gig after completing a design bootcamp program in summer 2019. My overall experience has been very positive, with a special shout out going to my recruiter Sam. She had a better understanding of the design landscape than other recruiters I had worked with. She was extremely responsive and worked with me to make sure my skills/interests aligned with the position I took. We’ve regularly checked in since I started, and it’s reassuring to know I have someone on my side. Brooksource provided documentation and assistance when I had questions, and I feel the package I received was competitive with decent benefits. I plan to continue working with Brooksource when my current contract ends.

They helped me land an amazing full time position.

Brooksource contacted me, the interview process went smoothly and their people were great. *HOWEVER* the 6 month contract-to-hire was terminated extremely early due to ‘internal reorganization.’ I am only giving 3 stars because they didn’t have a penalty clause in the contract to prevent their client from terminating early. I had left a long-term FTE position with hard to beat benefits. Brooksource’s recruiter had assured me the company usually hires after the contract period. I would not recommend contracting unless there’s a clause in the contract that penalizes the company for terminating the contract early (and gives that penalty to the contractor). Now I know for next time, but I’ve lost all the leverage I had while initially looking to move up in my career (not to mention being unemployed after a month and a half with the expectation I wouldn’t need to job search again until contract ended). Better lawyers on their part would have prevented this situation from manifesting. They seemed blindsided as well and immediately told me about a position near me for another client at the same pay rate.
