This company contacted me through indeed. They lined me up with a job, and shortly after I got a better offer elsewhere. I informed them, over the phone, that I accepted and would be declining to work with them further.
Later that day, via TEXT MESSAGE, I get: “You owe us $498.00 for the training we put you through, and we’ll send the balance to collections if you don’t pay in person, in cash, within 7 days.”
They never informed me of this liability, beyond the drug test, for which I reimbursed them $64 without a problem…
Any attempt to discuss with the pwner/manager was met with resistance and unwillingness to admit any responsibility for not informing me that accepting the position carried these liabilities, I was informed only AFTER deciding to not even begin the job in the first place. I was never paid, never signed anything, and they tell me after the fact? Get real, that’s extortion!
I told her to do what she has to do, and I’ll pay $1000.00 to fight it legally, just on principle. This is a shifty, unprofessional group of people, I wouldn’t want them to represent me if this is what they pull.
I’ll also be informing the company that Baytech was trying to hire me into about this. I wouldn’t want them representing my company in this circumstance either.
I have yet to recieve a phonecall from any collection agency, so I suppose maybe they thought better of it, I’ll update this review if I hear anything further. On the whole, the entire experience was full of hassle and miscommunication, just go talking to the companies that fit your trade… you don’t need the help of Baytech or the other fly by night staffing agencies like them. Alloy told me I should have just walked in. I didn’t know better… I do now.
That is all, for now.
