After my recent experience with Aston Carter I must say it left me questioning the whole hiring process as a candidate. I was interrogated instead of being interviewed. After being called by a recruiter last minute who wanted me to instantly be prepared last minute for a position at Cedars Sinai Hospital for a position as a Patient Registration Specialist. I was interviewed for several different departments within this facility none of which were successful, as I was told that there were other candidates that had more recent job experiences….. more recent than 2021 or 2022? I do believe that this is 2023! Also my recruiter whose name is Jared G. Was anything but transparent when it came to feed back on the interviews, I asked if there was anything I could do to make myself a better candidate for these positions and he constantly stated that the interviewers stated that I interviewed well but I guess not well enough to be hired for these roles. Mind you this was three separate positions still nothing. On one interview in particular there were two women through out the interview process again one of which I had to be prepared the same day as the recruiter reached out to me. In this interview there was a Caucasian woman and a black women, the Caucasian woman took the lead in the interview process and the black woman just sat in, both were from two separate sectors of this position. I never saw the need for them both to be there other than to attempt to show me diversity, I didn’t feel that the black women had a leg in the hiring process at all. I felt this whole process was discriminative, and I’ve declined all further interviews with this company. This is just a glimpse of my experience as a black woman seeking employment in Los Angeles.
