Spoke to a technology recruiter about a possible position for a client of theirs. The recruiter lacked a basic understanding of technology and would repeat the same questions. One example of a question asked by this recruiter, followed by their response is “what cloud platform do you work with? this client is looking for someone who works with Azure” — I replied, stating that I work with AWS and Azure in addition to our on-premises infrastructure, to which they replied “so you do not work with Azure?”. This call ended after the recruiter directly insulted me and stated that I have no hands-on experience, despite giving them numerous examples of my experience.

I can not forgive or forget them harassing me during the recession. They needed to wasted a day of life to invite to their office to play questions. “What tools do you use ?” I spend an hour getting there to be asked what tools I use by a person who is not be able to comprehend the question or the answer. After that they prepossessed me about information is confidential by every standard of the industry. I reaped 3 times “you are asking me about information that is confidential”. For the following 2 weeks one of their recruiters woudl call my cell and ask this question every day. This is a summer in midst of the great recession.

Apparently they’ve resorted to spamming email addresses they find online. I have absolutely nothing to do with recruiting, and yet I get emails. When I ask how they got my information, I receive more “I’ll be your recruiter” emails. I feel that is a bad way to conduct business. UPDATE: A month later they are still sending emails, even after I’ve requested twice to be removed from their mailing list.
