Just got fired from Pac-Rite.
They wrote me up and sent me home for using my phone—for a work-related task. I was using the calculator to safely divide a stack of pallets before moving them to the designated line. That’s called using my head, not breaking rules.
But this wasn’t the first time they came at me sideways. I got written up before for damaging boxes that were poorly stacked before I ever touched them. When I stood up for myself, they didn’t like it. Management doesn’t want thinkers—they want sheep. And if you challenge the herd, they send you home.
Jason, the head manager, even threatened to take money out of my paycheck for any future damages—talk about crossing the line. I showed up to work every day, 30 minutes to an hour early. I gave that place everything I had. I helped strengthen the Hilo team—hell, in the 4 months I was there, they cycled through five different Hilo drivers. At one point, it was just two of us running the entire second shift.
But they don’t reward hustle. They reward people who keep their heads down and do the bare minimum. If you work hard, speak up, or show initiative, you won’t last long. That’s the truth.
I didn’t get fired for points. I didn’t get fired for being late. I got fired for not playing the game. So if you’re thinking about working there, do yourself a favor—don’t. Look somewhere that values effort, integrity, and actual teamwork. This isn’t it.
