Job Brief
As a Property and Casualty Insurance Claims Examiner, you will play a critical role in the evaluation and settlement of insurance claims. You will be responsible for reviewing settled claims to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while also collaborating with legal counsel on complex cases requiring litigation. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical background and excellent communication skills to effectively handle and resolve claims efficiently.Responsibilities
- Review and analyze property and casualty insurance claims for compliance with company standards.
- Determine appropriate payments and settlements based on policy terms and coverage.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on claims that may require litigation or legal interpretation.
- Investigate claims as necessary to gather relevant information and documentation.
- Communicate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders regarding claims status and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of claims and settlements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to junior claims staff and team members.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations affecting claims processing and settlement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property and casualty insurance claims examination.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims concurrently.
- Professional certifications such as AIC (Associate in Claims) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) are advantageous.
