Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Religious Worker to provide spiritual guidance and support within our community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastoral care, social services, or community outreach, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering spiritual growth. This role requires a deep understanding of diverse religious beliefs, effective communication skills, and experience in counseling or group facilitation.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual counseling and guidance to individuals and families, addressing their emotional and spiritual needs.
- Organize and lead religious services, ceremonies, and community events to promote spiritual engagement.
- Develop and implement outreach programs aimed at supporting community members, fostering inclusivity and understanding.
- Conduct home visits and offer support to those facing life challenges, including illness, grief, and life transitions.
- Collaborate with local organizations to enhance community support services and resources.
- Facilitate educational programs and workshops on various spiritual topics to promote community learning.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, community programs, and other relevant activities.
- Stay informed on current social issues and trends affecting the community to provide relevant support and guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Social Work, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastoral care, community service, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of diverse religious practices and belief systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Experience in group facilitation and public speaking, with a passion for community engagement.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate compassion and empathy.
- Certification in counseling or pastoral care is a plus.
