Job Brief
As a Plate Glass Installer, you will be responsible for the precise installation of glass in various applications, including windows, skylights, storefronts, and display cases. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions for installation in residential and commercial settings.
- Install glass in windows, doors, skylights, and other structures, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment, including glass cutters, suction cups, and safety gear, to execute installations.
- Inspect glass surfaces for defects, ensuring quality standards are met before and after installation.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and clients to determine project specifications and installation requirements.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform repairs and replacements of damaged glass as needed, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in glass installation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a glass installer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Knowledge of glass types, installation techniques, and safety practices.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to glass installation.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
