I strongly recommend not risking your career life by working here, you will most likely end up with a really bad reference for your prospective employers. Even though I enjoyed working with children in Springfield and Ozark area, and I liked the flexible schedule, I suffered from tremendous amount of stress and pressure due to the unprofessional way of handling issues. I was brand new to US school education system and was obviously expecting support and help from Penmac staff once I was facing an issue, but obviously that was a good reason for them and a few schools to mistreat me. They barely provided assistance or good training at the beginning, and whenever I was encountering problems because I wasn’t familiar with the system or a specific school’s policies or sometimes without any reason, they were calling me with threats and false accusations which led to extreme amount of anxiety and frustration while performing my work duties. Each day, I was expecting them to call accusing me of something new. They were also repeatedly blocking my Frontline not letting me choose the schools I was feeling safe in, and I had to firmly confront them asking to unblock my account by taking the issue to higher level management. So as you can see diversity receives no value in this company, and it heavily works to your disadvantage if you are different in any way. In addition, based on my personal experience, some schools can easily make false accusations only because they don’t like your identity instead of working with you and guiding you in the right direction, and Penmac in response supports them without asking a question or without asking for evidence. And if you ask for proof in case of false accusations, they refuse to provide such proof or refuse any written communication but just say that they don’t want you in their school which is heartbreaking and painful. This harms first of all the diverse population, students and parents in Springfield area or elsewhere, and secondly the entire community suffers as a result since diversity promotes quality of life and learning. And this misbehaving might not finish even after you stop working for the company, they have the potential of providing negative reference to your prospective employers which is illegal but can happen and should surely be followed up with legal action. Also, I need to mention that as I got to know the other substitutes local to the area, they shared how much they were suffering from the unprofessional behavior of the staff, and the fact that substitutes were even avoiding calling the office due to the high amount of hateful comments and words they were receiving. If you can, work directly with schools because there are some schools which are really welcoming and supportive and they like to work with you because Penmac can’t handle a safe and welcoming work environment at all whether for locals or outsiders. Now sadly, I feel relieved that I stopped working for this company since they have a long way to professionalism mainly because they reject taking constructive feedback and refuse valuing their employees, the substitutes.

To all those that wish to work at a company like this I wish you well. In the year’s working with this Company they have been grate. However, they are just like any other big company that looks after there self not there people that are bending over backwards for them. Along with the hard hours given over time. They are a grate place to get your feet wet and learn new things. However, they do not believe your life matters and that you even have a life. When you barley mess up they really stick it to you. and then you are treated as all your hard work went down the drain and you get put on a 6 month strike and if you miss or mess up in that time they delete you from the system and you no longer have a job. Its is this American mind set of no matter what jobs you do , or show up for in that moment . when you mess up your done. It really bothers me that they all say we need help and cant find anyone to work but its not that its how they treat the help they do get and you ether conform to the job and there life and how they want you to be or your not the right fit for the job. I have worked for may like this in my young life and its literally sad that America has jobs like this that treat people as if there just a number in the system and not an actual human. If you enjoy places like this this is for you God help those that are not.

The process of registering for Penmac is time consuming. I have spent a full day, paid for a fingerprint test and am still not approved for the districts I want unless I pay for a second fingerprint test for those districts. I DO NOT recommend their services. I have taught full time eight years and subbed many more. I have enjoyed subbing in the past and had top ratings.
