Job Brief

As an Outpatient Interviewing Clerk, you will be responsible for conducting interviews with patients via telephone, mail, or in-person to complete necessary forms, applications, or questionnaires. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assist individuals in accurately completing required documentation. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in clerical roles within healthcare settings and possess excellent interpersonal skills to ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with patients through various communication channels, including phone, mail, and in-person interactions.
  • Ask targeted questions to gather necessary information for forms, applications, and questionnaires.
  • Record responses accurately and efficiently, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist patients in completing required forms, providing clear instructions and guidance as needed.
  • Sort, classify, and file completed forms and patient documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely processing of patient information and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including data entry and maintaining patient records for accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information responsibly.
