Job Brief
As an Oil Rig Driller, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various drilling equipment to extract underground oil and gas, as well as collecting core samples for evaluation during exploration activities. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain drilling rigs and associated equipment to ensure efficient oil and gas extraction.
- Set up drilling equipment, including drill bits, casing, and mud systems.
- Monitor drilling parameters and make adjustments to optimize performance and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of drilling machinery and tools.
- Collaborate with geologists and engineers to interpret data and plan drilling activities.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment on-site.
- Document drilling progress and maintain accurate records of operations.
- Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot equipment failures promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as an Oil Rig Driller or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and remote environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and environmental compliance.
- Willingness to work on a rotating schedule, including extended hours and weekends.
