Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Nuclear Monitoring Technician to support nuclear physicists and engineers in various laboratory and power generation activities. This role involves operating, maintaining, and providing quality control for nuclear testing and research equipment, as well as monitoring radiation levels to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of nuclear testing and research equipment.
- Monitor radiation levels and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control assessments of nuclear systems and equipment.
- Support nuclear physicists and engineers in laboratory and electricity production activities.
- Document and report findings related to radiation monitoring and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues and develop solutions.
- Participate in safety training and maintain knowledge of industry best practices related to nuclear safety.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and data for research and testing projects.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nuclear science, engineering, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a laboratory, nuclear power plant, or related environment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and monitoring equipment.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant certifications in radiation safety or nuclear technology are a plus.
