Job Brief

The Naval Aircrewman (Special Assignment) plays a critical role in executing in-flight duties essential for the successful completion of various missions, including combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue operations. Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft communications and detection equipment, including satellite linkages and countermeasures against enemy communications.
  • Conduct preflight, in-flight, and postflight inspections on onboard equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Manage and maintain aircraft weapons systems and defensive measures to enhance mission effectiveness.
  • Oversee in-flight refueling operations, ensuring safety and efficiency during fuel transfer.
  • Execute aircraft safety protocols and emergency procedures to safeguard crew and mission integrity.
  • Compute and verify weights and balance data for passengers, cargo, fuel, and emergency equipment.
  • Conduct cargo and personnel drops with precision and adherence to operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other crew members to ensure mission objectives are met and operational standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; military training in aviation operations is preferred.
  • Experience in operating aircraft systems, communications, and detection equipment.

  • Ability to compute weight and balance data accurately for various aircraft configurations.
  • Familiarity with aircraft weapons and defensive systems, with hands-on maintenance experience.
