Job Brief
The Naval Aircrewman (Special Assignment) plays a critical role in executing in-flight duties essential for the successful completion of various missions, including combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue operations. Responsibilities
- Operate aircraft communications and detection equipment, including satellite linkages and countermeasures against enemy communications.
- Conduct preflight, in-flight, and postflight inspections on onboard equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Manage and maintain aircraft weapons systems and defensive measures to enhance mission effectiveness.
- Oversee in-flight refueling operations, ensuring safety and efficiency during fuel transfer.
- Execute aircraft safety protocols and emergency procedures to safeguard crew and mission integrity.
- Compute and verify weights and balance data for passengers, cargo, fuel, and emergency equipment.
- Conduct cargo and personnel drops with precision and adherence to operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with other crew members to ensure mission objectives are met and operational standards are maintained.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; military training in aviation operations is preferred.
- Experience in operating aircraft systems, communications, and detection equipment.
- Strong understanding of aircraft safety and emergency procedures.
- Ability to compute weight and balance data accurately for various aircraft configurations.
- Familiarity with aircraft weapons and defensive systems, with hands-on maintenance experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
- Valid military flight training and certifications as required for the specific aircraft type.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
