Job Brief
As a Music Adapter, you will conduct, direct, and lead instrumental and vocal performances by various musical groups, including orchestras, bands, choirs, and glee clubs. You will also create original music compositions tailored to specific performances or projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of musical theory, and the ability to adapt existing works to fit the unique demands of different ensembles. A background in music education or a related field is preferred, along with experience in arranging and composing music.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and direct rehearsals and performances for musical ensembles.
- Arrange and adapt existing musical compositions for various instruments and vocal types.
- Lead and mentor musicians, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration.
- Develop original musical works that align with performance objectives.
- Coordinate and plan concert schedules, ensuring effective communication among ensemble members.
- Oversee the selection of repertoire and materials in line with performance goals.
- Evaluate and critique musical performances to promote continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other artists, producers, and production teams to enhance musical presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting and arranging music for ensembles.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and instrumentation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate musicians of all skill levels.
- Proficiency in music notation software and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
- Experience with live performance settings and event coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
