Job Brief
The Material Control Clerk plays a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the flow of materials and work within an organization according to production schedules. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between departments based on production schedules.
- Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules to ensure timely operations.
- Communicate with department supervisors to assess progress of work and establish completion dates.
- Compile and maintain reports on work progress, inventory status, costs, and production issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory control activities to optimize stock management.
- Identify and resolve production problems or delays, escalating issues as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations related to material handling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a materials control, inventory management, or production support role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of production processes and terminology in a manufacturing environment.
