Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Marine Pipefitter to join our team, responsible for assembling, installing, altering, and repairing pipelines or pipe systems that transport water, steam, air, and various liquids or gases. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in marine environments and possess expertise in installing heating and cooling equipment as well as mechanical control systems, including fire suppression systems. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install piping systems for marine applications, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Repair and maintain existing pipe systems, addressing leaks and other issues promptly.
- Alter pipe layouts and components to accommodate design changes or upgrades.
- Install and maintain heating, cooling, and mechanical control systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Conduct inspections on piping systems to ensure functionality and safety.
- Document all work completed and maintain accurate records for review.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Marine Pipefitter or similar role in the marine industry.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with mechanical control systems and HVAC installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Relevant certifications in plumbing or pipefitting are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in various marine environments, including onboard vessels.
