Job Brief

The Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Gunner plays a critical role in the protection of ground forces and assets by targeting, firing, and maintaining advanced weaponry designed to neutralize enemy aerial threats. This position requires proficiency in operating various air defense artillery systems, including missiles and rockets, as well as ground combat weaponry such as guns and howitzers. Candidates should possess experience in military operations, strong technical skills related to weapon systems, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain low altitude air defense weapon systems and associated equipment.
  • Conduct accurate targeting and firing of weapons to engage and destroy enemy aircraft and aerial threats.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on weapons systems, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Test, inspect, and store ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Establish and maintain effective radio and wire communications for operational coordination.
  • Utilize weapons targeting and firing computer systems to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Participate in training exercises and simulations to maintain combat readiness and improve skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for air defense operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; military training in artillery or air defense systems preferred.
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining low altitude air defense weapons systems.
  • Strong knowledge of military tactics, weapons systems, and combat operations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions in combat scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination.
  • Familiarity with computer systems used for weapons targeting and firing operations.
  • Certification in weapons handling and safety procedures is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
