Job Brief
As an X-Ray Technician, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare sector by performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and CAT scans, to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of radiologic technology principles, patient care, and safety protocols. Ideal candidates will possess relevant certifications and experience in operating imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging results while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct X-ray and CAT scan procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Administer nonradioactive materials into patients’ bloodstream for diagnostic and research purposes.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while minimizing discomfort.
- Maintain and operate radiologic equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to discuss patient imaging needs and findings.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results and patient history.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and radiation safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Proficient in operating X-ray and CAT scan equipment and understanding imaging software.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as a radiologic technologist or technician is advantageous.
