Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Wood Cabinet Finisher to join our team, responsible for shaping, finishing, and refinishing high-grade furniture and cabinetry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wood finishing techniques and a keen eye for detail, ensuring each piece meets quality standards and specified color or finish requirements. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and applying primer as needed.
- Apply stains, paints, varnishes, and lacquers to wood cabinetry and furniture.
- Refinish damaged or worn furniture to restore its original appearance.
- Ensure consistency in color and texture across all finished products.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with carpenters and designers to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new finishing techniques to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Wood Cabinet Finisher or similar role in the woodworking industry.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, finishing products, and application techniques.
- Familiarity with tools and machinery used in the finishing process, including spray guns and sanders.
- Attention to detail and a strong aesthetic sense to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in woodworking or finishing preferred.
