Job Brief
As a Wildlife and Game Protector, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding wildlife populations and enforcing fish and game laws. Your primary responsibilities include patrolling designated areas to prevent violations, investigating wildlife-related damages to crops and property, and compiling essential biological data. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, a deep understanding of ecological principles, and effective communication abilities to engage with the community and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols in assigned areas to monitor compliance with fish and game regulations.
- Investigate reports of wildlife damage to agricultural lands and properties, assessing the impact and providing solutions.
- Compile and analyze biological data to support wildlife management and conservation efforts.
- Educate the public on wildlife conservation practices and legal responsibilities regarding game protection.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and environmental agencies to enhance conservation initiatives.
- Respond promptly to wildlife emergencies, including injured or dangerous animal encounters.
- Maintain accurate records of enforcement activities, wildlife observations, and community interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in wildlife conservation, law enforcement, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of fish and game laws, ecological principles, and wildlife management practices.
- Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse communities.
- Ability to work independently in remote environments and adapt to changing conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork and training.
- Certification in first aid and CPR preferred.
