Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Wide Area Network Administrator to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our organization’s LAN and WAN infrastructure. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure the integrity and availability of network resources, including physical and virtual servers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system monitoring, user access control, and network resource management, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor system performance and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources.
- Review system and application logs to ensure scheduled jobs, including backups, are completed successfully.
- Analyze network and server resource consumption, optimizing performance and controlling user access.
- Install and upgrade software, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
- Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between hardware and software systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures for future reference and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Wide Area Network Administrator or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, network architecture, and data communications technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and practices.
- Strong understanding of server and operating system management.
- Experience with network security practices and user access control measures.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
