Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled White Metal Caster to join our team. In this role, you will operate hand-controlled mechanisms to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds, producing high-quality castings and ingots. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of metal casting processes and demonstrate attention to detail, ensuring precision in every pour. A background in metallurgy or a related field is preferred, along with relevant hands-on experience in metal casting operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand-controlled mechanisms to pour molten metal into molds accurately.
- Regulate the flow of molten metal to ensure consistency and quality in castings.
- Monitor temperature and viscosity of molten metal to maintain optimal casting conditions.
- Inspect molds and castings for defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with industry safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve casting issues.
- Document production processes and maintain records of casting operations.
- Adhere to quality control procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metallurgy or casting preferred.
- Proven experience as a White Metal Caster or in a similar role in metal casting.
- Strong knowledge of metal properties and casting techniques.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a foundry environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
