Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Weed Sprayer to efficiently manage the application of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to maintain healthy landscapes and crops. The ideal candidate will possess relevant state or federal certification and demonstrate expertise in chemical application techniques. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to work independently to ensure optimal plant health and pest control.
Responsibilities
- Mix and accurately apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides using spray equipment and other methods.
- Conduct regular inspections of trees, shrubs, lawns, and crops to identify pest infestations and diseases.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical application and safety.
- Maintain and calibrate spraying equipment for optimal performance and accuracy.
- Document application rates, pesticide types, and areas treated for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Educate clients on pest management strategies and the safe use of chemicals.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks associated with chemical exposure.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pest control methods, and new products in the market.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in agriculture or horticulture is a plus.
- Valid state or federal pesticide applicator certification.
- Experience in agricultural chemical application and pest management.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, pest identification, and integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
- Ability to operate and maintain spraying equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and teamwork.
